The Tigers head to the windy city for a three-game series against the red-hot Chicago White Sox. Detroit brings a record of 22-35 into the series while having lost 14 of their last 16 games. The injury bug has made a killing in the Tigers clubhouse this season with many guys who were expected to produce, missing extended time due to injury. Starter Casey Mize and closer Kenley Jansen were both hurt in the series finale Thursday against the Angels.

Outside of Kevin McGonigle, Riley Greene, and Dillon Dingler, the Tigers have gotten almost zero production from the rest of the roster. The Tigers stood pat with Spencer Torkelson as the premier right-handed bat in this lineup for 2026, he is batting .205 with a .712 OPS with 8 home runs. If it wasn't for one 5 homer week in April these numbers would be much worse. The supporting cast of Zack McKinstry, Matt Vierling, Wenceel Perez, and Jahmai Jones have all fallen off a cliff offensively.
