The Detroit Tigers promoted their top prospect, OF Max Clark, from Toledo to join the team in Sacramento this weekend against the Athletics. Clark may have struggled in spring training with the big club, but he's turned it on in Toledo, especially in the last 2 months. On the season, Clark boasts an OPS of .802, a .276 average to go with his .368 on base percentage. His performance in the last 18 games with the Mudhens has forced the Tigers hand in calling him up. Clark has mashed a 1.067 ops and a 184 wrc+ (weight runs created) since the all-star break. Combine Clarks hot streak with the abysmal outfield rotation the Tigers have been trotting out this year with players like James Outman struggling, and Kerry Carpenter and now Matt Vierling heading to the Injured List. While everyone holds their breath to see what the GM Scott Harris will do with Tarik Skubal at Mondays trade deadline, this is a move that Tigers fans can be excited about for the rest of this summer, and hopefully years to come.
